Salvation Army looking for a 'Santa's Workshop'

It’s that time of year again, when the local Salvation Army gets ready for its annual Christmas Hamper drive.

But this year, the organization wants to try something new.

Organizer Isobel Lippers says the local branch is looking for a ‘Santa’s workshop’ to operate its drive out of.

This would give the Army Cadets sufficient room to assemble the hampers. It also allows people to conveniently pick up toys and food.

Lippers says she hopes the business community gets involved in distributing the hampers.

Unfortunately, Fort St. John Mayor Bruce Lantz says the city cannot help with the building issue.

So, the organization is reaching out to members of the community.

If anyone has a vacant building available from the middle of November until the end of December, drop into the local Salvation Army or call Ben Lippers at 250-785-0506.
