UPDATE-   Police concluded their search at around 1:30 p.m. on Friday afternoon. No bomb was found.  Classes resumed for the remaining students. There’s no word yet on if the police know who made the call. The investigation is continuing. Superintendant of School District 60 Larry Espe says the school will be reopened on Monday.

The Fort St. John RCMP and fire department have evacuated the Dr. Kearney Junior Secondary School at 10723 92 Street.

Officers are conducting a search of the building. A bomb threat was called into the police detachment shortly before 11:30 a.m. on Friday. Investigators are searching the grounds, with the help of a police dog.

No one is injured, and students and supervisors are remaining calm.

Classes were expected to return at 1:00 p.m., however, the search is expected to take longer. Students now have two options:

1) Students will be dismissed from school at 1:00 p.m., so parents can pick their kids up.

2) Students can stay on the school grounds, as they will be supervised by their teacher until the school day is over.
