Just over seven weeks ago, a fire ripped through the Rosenau and Unified Valve building in Fort St. John.

Now, investigators think that the fire was caused by something that could have been prevented.

Here’s Fort St. John Fire Chief Fred Burrows.

Numerous chemicals, including methanol-based substances, were being stored in the building.

Burrows says the fire broke out in an office area, where lots of equipment was plugged into a power bar.
