Fire Chief narrows down cause of Rosenau fire

Just over seven weeks ago, a fire ripped through the Rosenau and Unified Valve building in Fort St. John.

Now, investigators think that the fire was caused by something that could have been prevented.

Numerous chemicals, including methanol-based substances, were being stored in the building.

Burrows says the fire broke out in an office area, where lots of equipment was plugged into a power bar.

Burrows says the Fire Department will be focusing on educating the public on power bar usage all through October, which is Fire and Burn Prevention month.
