Mayor Bruce Lantz is urging the community to show its Olympic spirit.

At the regular City Council meeting last week, Lantz says Fort St. John is registered for the Gamestown 2010 competition.

All residents have to do now is log onto the website, and explain how the community is making a difference in supporting healthy living, sports, environmental sustainability, and the Olympic spirit.

The money would then be used to improve a local sport or a healthy living facility in Fort St. John.

Residents can upload videos, photos, and stories to the website. To date, there are only a handful of stories dedicated to Fort St. John.

So Mayor Lantz is encouraging residents to rally together and submit their stories.

Later this year, three communities will be awarded Gold, Silver, or Bronze medals. Prizes range from $100,000 to $25,000.
