Proclaimed week brings mental health and addictions to light

A week in November will now bring awareness to mental health and addictions in Fort St.John.

Ibolya Agoston is the Community Mental Health and Addictions Team Leader for Northern Health.

On Monday, she asked City Council to proclaim a week in November as Mental Health and Addictions awareness week.

Agoston represents a team of professionals, including stakeholders from the RCMP, problem gambling organizations, the Schizophrenia Society, and many others.

The team is dedicated to providing resources and care to people with mental health and/or addictions.

City Council awarded the organization a proclamation, stating that November 2nd to 8th will be Mental Health and Addictions awareness week
