Scholarship available for young innovators

Grade 12 students from School District 60 can now apply for a scholarship for young innovators.

The Young Innovator Scholarship Fund will award $225,000 to students across B.C.

High school students compete in ‘MashUP’ competitions throughout the province. The competition requires participants to develop a new technology by blending two or more existing technologies. The initiative encourages students to continue education in post-secondary science, technology and business programs.

The scholarship fund is a partnership between the Northern Development Initiative Trust and the BC Innovation Council. The BCIC has contributed $150,000 and Northern Development has contributed $75,000 in support of this program.

For more information about the program, students and high school administrators can visit www.bcic.ca\students.
