Fort St. John man charged after July cabbie attack

A Fort St. John man has been sentenced to eighteen months in jail following a brutal beating of a cab driver in July.

The cab driver was attacked after being called to a house on the corner of 86th street and 89th avenue. The suspect, now identified as Brandon Moore, entered the car, and repeatedly beat the cabbie in the head with a metal weapon.

The cab driver was sent to hospital, and at the time, officers reported he was recovering.

In August, Brandon Moore plead guilty to committing a robbery. He was sentenced with the 18 months, as well as two years probation, ten years of firearms prohibition, and he was also ordered to submit his DNA. Moore was also found guilty under the motor vehicle act for driving when prohibited. He was fined $500 and given a one year driving ban.
