Midget B Flyers
The Formula Powell Midget B Flyers hosted the Grande Cache Rockies Saturday night with the home team notching a 4-2 win. Nico Mitchell scored an unassisted goal in the first period, but John Apsassin netted 2 goals in the 2nd period and the game winner in the third to earn his hat trick. Brent Loewen picked up 2 assists and Tyson Chambers added 1.
Goaltender Craig Wozniak was stellar in net making many key saves to keep the Flyers in the game.

The Pee Wee AA Flyers controlled their opponents this past weekend outscoring them 16-2 and holding them to minimal shots in all three games giving them a 3-0 record in All Peace Action.
On Friday night, the Flyers pressured the Dawson Creek Canucks and out shot them 12–3 in the first frame but only led 1-0 on a goal by Captain Ricky Bateman, assisted by Aiden Harris. Kyle Johnson started the scoring in the second period on a great feed from Nolan Legace to make it 2-0. Bateman scored his second of the game from Gavin Gould and Alex Hartman to make it 3-0 after two.
The Canucks narrowed the lead when they scored at the eight minute mark of the third but the Flyers answered back with one of their own when Jarod Lang netted one on a nice setup from Jeff Bochon and Harris. Colten Lancaster made some key saves in the final frame after seeing little action in the first two periods to earn the win.
Saturday was a similar game with the Flyers out shooting the High Prairie Buchanan Lumber Blades 12-2 in the first period but only led 2-1 on the scoreboard. Jordan Kosinsky tipped in Ryan Mulligan’s shot from the point to put the Flyers on the board. The Blades tied the game with 4 minutes remaining in the first and then Lang potted one from Bochon to give the Flyers a 2-1 lead at the end of the first frame.
Chase Allam started the scoring early in the second when he scored from Bateman at 17:49. Gavin Gould netted a pair within a few minutes to give the Flyers a commanding 5-1 lead after two periods.
The Flyers scored early in the third when Lang scored his second from Harris to finish the scoring and to make it a 6-1 final. Lane Delfs made some great saves in the third frame and only allowed one goal.
The Flyers defeated the Grande Prairie A Royals, 6-0 in the third game of the weekend. They continued to control the play and to out shoot their opponents. Delfs and Lancaster shared duties and earned a shutout.
After a scoreless first and most of the second frame, the Flyers finally netted one when Salina Edwards shot one in from Hartman and James Bowie with only 3 minutes left. Lang scored two minutes later from Mulligan and then Hartman netted one from Lang with only 12 seconds left in the period to make it 3-0.
In the final period, the Flyers continued to blast away and Bochon scored one from Hartman and Legace five minutes in. Harris banged the Flyers’ fifth goal in from Lang’s shot on net and then Sheldon Loewen scored the final goal when he rushed the net and popped in Edward’s rebound.
The Ross H. MacLean Pee Wee AA Flyers play at the Enerplex next Saturday at 4:15pm against Fairview in All Peace Action.
