It turns out last Friday’s snowfall amounted to much less than the initial estimates of Environment Canada, which had the total between 10 and 15 centimeters.
Airport measurements later determined, it was only 6.2 centimeters, raising the monthly total to 21.2. So with eight days left in the month, we’re still running about nine centimeters off the local area, November norm, which is 30.3 centimeters.
We’ve also received only about half as much as we did last November, when the total was 42.7. In addition the month-to-date total this year is barely more than 20 percent, of the 1995 November record, of 99.1 centimeters.
