The preliminary damage estimate from the City Fire Chief, is "pretty close to a million dollars," following an overnight fire, on the southern outskirts of Fort St. John.

Fred Burrows confirmed this morning that fire-fighters responded to an alarm just before midnight, at a location on 100th street south, where it turns into the 265 road.

He says the fire crews were at the scene for just about three hours, but there were no injuries.
