Update – Several reports into Energeticcity.ca suggest people as far away as Cecil Lake Kiskatinaw and Fort St. John also saw the same bright light, but didn’t hear the loud bang.

Several residents near Hudson’s Hope are reporting a bright flash and loud bang early this morning.

At approximately 6:44am, Friday November 20th, the Hudson’s Hope RCMP received a number of enquiries about a bright flash in the sky followed by a loud bang.

The RCMP are still trying to narrow down the area the flash and bang came from, but do believe it was in the Beryl Prairie area west of Hudson’s Hope. The RCMP have checked with several oil and gas companies that opperate in the area and they haven’t reported any incidents. They also checked with Nav Canada to make sure it wasn’t a plane crash.

At this point the RCMP are looking for the public’s help to narrow down the area this incident happened in and what may have happened. You can reach the Hudson’s Hope RCMP at 250-783-5241.

If you have a photo or any video of the bright light, send it to [email protected]
