Deadline looming for edible Olympic entries

It’s starting to smell a lot like Christmas at the Fort St. John Visitor Information Centre.

That’s because there are eight edible homes on display, waiting to be judged in the fourth annual gingerbread house competition.

Spokesperson Deanna Hill says this year, the judges will award bonus points to those who incorporate the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games into their creation.

She says there will be bonus points awarded to houses that are all edible, too.

So far, some of the entries include a replica of one of the Olympic Stadiums in Vancouver and a hockey rink with waffle-cup nets.

The homes will be on display until December 17 at the Visitor Information Centre.

Participants must drop off their creations by 5:00 p.m. on December 7th.

To check out the entries, drop into the Visitor Information Centre at 9523-100th Street.
