Enerplex construction continues

Fort St. John officials say the Enerplex is holding-up quite well during the recent freezing temperatures.

Director of Facilities and Protective Services, Jim Rogers, provided an update on the facility at Monday night’s council meeting.

He says the Northern Vac walking track still needs to acquire certain permits before the city can open up the third floor. That issue, he says, is between the architect and ‘local authorities.’

Meanwhile, the city is currently installing ice for the speed skating oval on the second floor. Rogers says there have been three loads of padding delivered to the facility.

The fourth load is expected to be delivered on the 17, and another shipment is scheduled for December 23rd.

The facility is expected to hold its grand opening in September of 2010.
