The Fort St. John and District Chamber of Commerce is making it easy to shop locally.

The Chamber’s Executive Director, Annette Oak, and Director, Bill Nicholson, explained the new program on Moose FM’s Issues and Answers on Wednesday.

Oak says the "Member to Member Savings Program" provides discounts to chamber members.

When chamber members purchase their 2010 membership, they will receive a special discount card.

That card can be used to get special discounts at local, participating businesses in Fort St. John.

Oak says any business interested in giving the special discounts, can contact her at the Chamber. She says the program has been successful in encouraging local shopping in other communities.
