The bus service offered by Northern Health will not be running during the holidays.
The NH Connections program provides transportation for patients travelling to other communities for health services.
Typically, residents in the northeast use the transit to get to health services in Grande Prairie, Alberta.
This year, the bus system will not be running from December 25th until January 2nd. This gives Northern Health workers a break for the holidays, and allows for routine maintenance on the buses. In a statement released on Monday, Northern Health notes that demand for patient transportation isn’t high during the holidays.
Meanwhile, a NH Connection route from Prince George to Vancouver will be delayed from February 12th until March 1st. Northern Health cites that accommodation will be difficult to find in the lower mainland, during those two weeks because of the 2010 Olympic Games.
That service will resume on Tuesday, March 2nd. However, during that time frame, all other NH Connections routes will operate as normal.
