Power outage in Fort St. John – Update

* Update: Power has been restored to all BC Hydro customers. The cause of the outage was due to a bird coming into contact with power lines.

A power outage is leaving 128 B.C. Hydro customers without power in Fort St. John.

The outage began at around 10:30 on Monday morning. It’s affecting homes that are north of 93rd street, west of 95th street, east of 102 street and south of 100th avenue.

The cause of the outage is still under investigation, but is expected to be restored by 1pm on Monday.
