RCMP remove more from roads

More Peace Region Residents have been removed from the roads.

The Fort St. John RCMP Peace Region Traffic Services and the Fort St. John RCMP Municipal Traffic forces are stilling trying to reduce the number of impaired drivers on Fort St. John Roads.

During the month of December, 15 drivers have been removed from the roads to date. Ten of those drivers are now facing criminal charges for impaired driving and five received 24 hour driving prohibitions and corresponding vehicle impoundments.

The RCMP say residents will still see enforcements in residential areas, rural secondary roads, downtown corridors and the main highways.

On a positive note, the RCMP have noticed that during road check stops there are more and more sober drivers on the roads of Fort St. John.
