Record low set on Sunday

Fort St. John set a record daily low yesterday on Sunday and is on the verge, of doing it again today and could also do it tomorrow.

The Sunday low, of minus 39.4, topped the 1964 December 13th mark of 36.1 and we need to get past minus 37.2, today and tomorrow, to break the 1964 records, for both December 14th and 15th.

However, believe it or not, it is even colder in Alberta, where the provincial capital, recorded minus 46 yesterday and with a windchill reading, put them just a fraction away from minus 59, that made Edmonton, the coldest place in North America.

In addition, the cold high pressure system, impacting the three western provinces, will likely continue to do so until Thursday.
