Stocking fundraiser a 'fine' idea

A local business owner is spreading the holiday cheer with a unique fundraiser.

Tonya Fines from Fines’ Organics and Natural Foods, along with the help of her staff, have organized the first annual "Stuff Our Stockings" fundraiser.

Fines says the idea is to fill 100 stockings full of goodies, for underprivileged families in Fort St. John.

The stockings will be distributed by Big Brother and Big Sisters of Fort St. John and the local Friendship Centre.

Fines says the stockings will be given to kids up to 16 years of age. So, things like a gift card to the theatre would be a perfect treat.

Fines says anyone interested can drop-off small toys or gift cards at the Fines Organic store.

Monetary donations will also be accepted, which Fines says will be used to purchase items to fill the stockings.

If anyone wants to help put the stockings together, or to make a donation, visit Fines’ Organic and Natural Foods at 9824 98A Avenue, across from the Co-op Mall.
