Seniors in Taylor will have one more option when it comes to affordable housing.

Mayor Fred Jarvis announced that B.C. Housing will be funding an eight-unit rental house in Taylor.

Jarvis says there is a huge demand for low-income housing in the town.

Jarvis says B.C. Housing is aiming to complete the project by Spring of 2010.

While the land has yet to be transferred, B.C. Housing has completed the necessary surveying for subdivision purposes, and the on-site geotechnical work.

Jarvis says the project has been in the works for some time. Around six or seven years ago, the town of Taylor asked seniors if there is a need for low-income housing. He says the response was overwhelming, and he hopes this project will be the first of many.

The rental complex will be located infront of the Lone Wolf Golf Course.
