Tembec has announced that it will re-open it’s Chetwynd pulp mill on January 1st, 2010.
The company says the mill will re-open due to strong demand in its key Asian markets. The company stated the mill would remain closed until market conditions improved. The mill was shut down in February of this year putting 180 out of work.
Before the mill resumes production, its expected that Tembec will try and work out a new labor agreement with its workers.
This is the second lumber facility in Chetwynd to announced that it will re-open in the past two weeks.
