The Northern Development Initiative Trust has granted funding to two projects in the Peace Region.

A $30,000 grant has been awarded to the Dawson Creek Golf and Country club, for clubhouse renovations. The funding will assist the facility with the completion of a kitchen, deck, banquet room and washrooms.

Chair of the clubhouse committee, Paul De Costa, says the improvements will likely attract new memberships.

Meanwhile, the NDI has granted $39,000 toward a $140,000 project by the Peace Region Paleontology Research Centre in Tumbler Ridge.

The project includes the expansion and relocation of the Paleontology Research Centre and Dinosaur Discovery Gallery, by renovating a vacant elementary school building.

Four new seasonal positions are expected to be created as a result of the two projects.
