Update – Flyers host Augustana this weekend

After taking a couple of weeks of over the holidays, the Senior Flyers jump into 2010 with a pair of ‘AAA’ exhibition games against a College from Alberta.

On January 2nd and 3rd, the Flyers will host Augustana College, which Coach Adam Brash says will be a good test for his team.  “They’re going to be conditioned properly.  They skate every day, and they’re a college hockey team” he says, adding “they’re going to be fast, they’re going to play their systems.”

The Flyers are expecting several of their out-of-town players to be in town for the weekend series, including the Calgary-based Ryans (Carter and Manitowich) and Dawson Creek’s Kip Noble.  In fact, G-M Rob Larson says the Flyers will likely ice a slightly different lineup for each game, to allow more players to get in on the action.

Tickets for the exhibition series against Augustana are available at the door, or in advance (at a discounted rate) at Ernie’s Sports Experts, in the Totem Mall.  On Saturday January 2nd the game starts at 8pm and on Sunday January 3rd the game starts at 1pm both at the North Peace Arena.
