**As of 6pm Monday power was restored to the community of Tumbler Ridge.
The power remains out in Tumbler Ridge, though it should be back on soon.
B.C. Hydro spokesperson Bob Gammer said at 3:35 (MST) on Monday, crews are working on "a couple of fixes," and he expects power to be back on by about 4:30. Hydro has had to delay its estimated restoration a couple of times, which Gammer says is because the cold weather was creating more problems than anticipated. Meanwhile, an outage in the Western edge of Fort St. John affecting around 550 customers on Monday afternoon has now been restored.
Gammer says that outage was caused by a bird contacting two power lines at the same time, causing a ‘phase to phase fault’. [asset|aid=2254|format=mp3player|formatter=asset_bonus|title=673d3b198354191e0b62850db14dde03-gammer-Fort St. John3.50_1_Pub.mp3]
Gammer says the outage only lasted for about 45 minutes. He says the exact location of the fault was behind the Rona store.
