Cancer support banquet slated for Saturday

The local Pink Ribbon Breast Cancer Foundation is holding a fundraiser on Saturday.

All funds raised will go towards reducing the financial impact of fighting the disease, on Fort St. John area cancer victims.

As reported earlier, surviving cancer patients Wendy Pollack and Billy Reimer started the foundation last year on the premise that a cancer diagnosis is bad enough, without added financial treatment stress.

Saturday’s fundraising banquet and live auction at the Pomery Hotel, will be the Foudation’s first campaign, and it hopes to raise 20 thousand dollars.

Project Manager Billy Reimer admits its an ambitious target, but he adds, even though the foundation is named for breast cancer, "all" cancer patients will be considered, for funding assistance.
