Denny Morrison picks up two wins at the Continental Qualifier


Denny Morrison picked up two wins Saturday at the Continental Qualifiers in Calgary.

Morrison finished first in the 500m and 5,000m events Saturday. In the 500m he finished with a time of 35.97. Trevor Marsicano from The United States came in second and Mathieu Giroux from Canada was third.

In the 5,000m race, Denny finished first with a time of a time of 6:24.31, Jonathan Kuck of the US was second, followed by Trevor Marsicano, also of the US.

Morrison will also race on Sunday in the 1,500m event.

After this event, Denny and the rest of the Canadian Team will head to Vancouver and begin preparations for the Olympics.

Morrison will compete in 4 events at the Olympics, 1000m, 1500m, 5000m, team pursuit
