The RCMP are just releasing information about a call they received on December 22nd, 2009.

The Fort St. John RCMP received a call from a local business, stating they had found a quantity of cash in a commercial dumpster.

Police have been looking for the potential owner of the money, but so far have had no success.  The money will be held at the police detachment for a set period of time to allow the right owner to claim it.

You can claim the money by visiting the RCMP detachment and providing them with the amount and area it was found in.

The Fort St. John RCMP are grateful for members of the community who were willing to potentially sacrifice keeping a sum of money in order for it to be returned to the rightful owner.

Should anyone have any information regarding this incident, please contact Cst. Martyn at 250-787-8140 or 250-787-8100.
