Newcomers to Fort St. John will now get to develop their English language skills for free.
The Province announced on Monday that it will be investing $40,000 towards the local Literacy Society.
Immigrants and refugees who come to Fort St. John will be the beneficiaries of this investment.
The funding will go towards recruiting and training volunteer tutors, then help match tutors with those who want to improve their English language skills.
Fort Nelson will also be receiving $40,000 to deliver a similar program, in partnership with the Northern Lights College.
