A South Peace seniors group is drawing on inspiration from an organization in Fort St. John.

Sharon Miller is the Chairperson of the South Peace Seniors Access Society. She attended the Peace River Regional District meeting on Thursday, with a request for $20,000. Miller says the money would go towards a South Peace Community Health Guide, which she says would be invaluable.

In 2009, Save Our Northern Seniors produced and distributed a Community Health Guide, containing information ranging from local health services to support groups.

Miller says while there is some South Peace information within the guide, some of it is outdated. And she says health information is vital to seniors in the Peace.
