The RCMP is still awaiting Crown Counsel’s decision, on whether or not the EnCana Bomber suspect will face criminal charges.

Inspector Tim Shields held a news conference in Hythe, Alberta on Friday afternoon.

He says officers are searching the Trickle Creek Ranch for evidence in connection with the pipeline bombings in the B.C. Peace.

While officers cannot legally disclose the man’s name until they receive Crown Counsel’s blessing, numerous reports link notorious pipeline bomber Wiebo Ludwig to the incident.

Shields say they arrested a 50-60 year old male in Grande Prairie. Ludwig lives on the Trickle Creek Ranch and fits that age description.

More than 50 people reside in the ranch, located 25 kilometres from the Alberta-B.C. boarder. S

Shields says those residents have the option to stay in their homes during the search, which could last up to five days.

Shields says evidence on this suspect came to light sometime in the Fall.

Officers will now search for clues on the ranch, and Shields says investigators have come prepared.

He says it’s still too early to say if there will be more arrests in the investigation.
