Students at a Christian school in Fort St. John arrived on Thursday morning to discover some anti-Christian vandalism.

Corporal Kim Graham of the Fort St. John RCMP confirms at some point overnight on Wednesday night, an unknown number of suspects spraypainted swastikas and profanity on the Christian Life School.  The suspect(s) also dumped garbage around the grounds, and put a stop sign in the basketball hoop.

Based on the content of the graffiti, and the fact that no other schools are reporting damage, Corporal Graham agrees it’s probably fair to assume the school was targeted because of its religious affiliation.

She estimates the clean-up costs will run around $2,000 or more.

Police have no suspects at this point, and are encouraging anyone with information on the vandalism to contact the detachment, at 250-787-8140.
