By Energeticcity.ca staff

The Doig River First Nation and Aeolis Wind Power have signed an agreement relating to the development of the Hackney Hills and Thunder Mountain wind energy projects.

The Protocol Agreements will aim to establish a mutually beneficial, co-operative and productive relationship for both proposed projects. Both sites are located in the Treaty 8 territory, with the Hackney Hills project located 45 km from Hudson’s Hope, and Thunder Mountain project located 33 km from Tumbler Ridge.

Both agreements will provide a framework for Doig River and Aeolis Wind to address issues pertaining to protecting the land, as well as education, and economic opportunities.
