Charges pending in Cecil Lake Road collision

By Christine Rumleskie

It’s going to take some time before any charges will be laid in connection with a fatal collision on Cecil Lake road.

On Tuesday, January 26th, a 25 year-old male was killed after a trailer separated from an oncoming pick-up truck and struck the tanker truck he was driving.

There were no other passengers in the tanker truck, and the driver of the pick-up truck was uninjured.

On Monday, Constable Jackelynn Passarell with the Fort St. John RCMP detachment, said it’s up to Crown Counsel to decide whether or not charges will be laid. Crown Counsel must first review the inspections of each vehicle, and process information related to the investigation. Passarell says that could be a lengthy process.
