City grants a week for the Women's Institute

Next week will be Women’s Institute Week in Fort St. John.

Fort St. John City Council made the proclamation at Monday afternoon’s council meeting.

Women’s Institutes were first established in the 1930’s and are still active across the Peace Region. It is comprised of women who want to make a difference in the community.

The local organization supports facilities like the Fort St. John library, various community halls, and the Fort St. John Hospital.

The Women’s Institute Week starts on Valentine’s Day, and runs until February 20th.
