Denny Morrison will compete in the 1,000 metre event in Vancouver today.
The 1,000 metre event will start at 5pm our time, and you’re encouraged to cheer on Denny and the rest of the Canadian Speedskaters at the Lido Theatre.
The doors will open at 4pm and a TV crew from CTV will be there to film the event.
Morrison will have some stiff competition today as he takes on US skater Shani Davis, who is considered to be the favourite in the event.  Davis also holds the current World Record in the event with a time of 1:06.42.
Morrison will start in the second last pair in the event and will not only race against the clock but Mark Tuitert from the Netherlands.  The final pair will feature Shani Davis and Joon Mun from South Korea.

Other Canadians in the event include Francois-Olivier Roberge, Jeremy Wotherspoon and Kyle Parrott.
