A gas well near Hythe, Alberta blew out on Wednesday morning.

The Calgary Herald talked to Bob Curran, who is the spokesperson for the Energy Resources Conservation Board. He said a crew of Canadian Natural Resources workers was drilling a sweet gas well when it suddenly blew out around 3 a.m.

However, he confirmed that no one was hurt.

The well site is around 22 kilometres northwest of Hythe, and six kilometres from the nearest residence.

The Calgary Herald also quotes Wiebo Ludwig as saying the blow-out "speaks for itself." The anti-oil activist told the paper "I don’t have to rub it in at this point.”
