Glass Container Recycling to Resume

Beginning the first of April, recycling depots in this region will once again be accepting glass food containers.

In addition, an Eco-Depot release says here in Fort St. John only they will also be accepted for curbside pickup.

However, they must be put in a reusable box and placed beside the blue bags used for the curbside recycling collection service.

The release says all colors of glass bottles and jars will be accepted but you should ensure they are clean and free of food residue, with the lids and labels removed.

The Eco-Depot also says, at this time, glass will not be accepted at the unmanned recycling bin sites, because it is working on developing an alternative collection method, to reduce contamination.

More more information you can go to the Eco-Depot website www.ecodepotrecycling.com or you can call 250-785-0300.
