Grande Prairie Weekend Fatality

At least one person is dead following a two vehicle Highway 43 weekend crash in Grande Prairie.

According to a police news release, a car crossed into the path of an oncoming a semi-tractor trailer around 2:45 Saturday morning.

The RCMP release says by the time fire and ambulance personnel arrived both vehicles were on fire and it took 16 firefighters to put out the blaze.

The release confirms an unidentified man was killed, but there’s nothing yet indicating anyone else was injured.

The crash closed a six block area for most of the day.
