'Love to Skate' at Enerplex on Feb. 14th

By Jon Zacks

What do you get when you combine Olympic excitement with Valentine’s Day?

For Enerplex users, it’s a love of skating.

The City of Fort St. John, and the Elks Speed-skating club, are presenting ‘Love to Skate’ – an afternoon of fun at the Enerplex Oval.

The event includes an afternoon of skating, with games, races, prizes, and food. Skaters are encouraged to get a team organized for the relay races. The team boasting the fastest combination of 1 hockey player, 1 speed-skater, and 1 figure skater will win $300.

As well, there will be long-track speed-skating exhibition races, giving residents a chance to see some potential future-olympians in action.

Best of all, the event is free of charge.

Wear red and white to show off your Olympic spirit, and win additional spirit prizes.

The event runs from 1-4 p.m. on February 14th.

For more information, or to find a speed-skater to join your team, visit www.fsjspeedskating.com, or contact Dena at dskfsj@telus.net
