Superior Propane is gas flaring in Fort St. John, but says there’s no cause for concern.

On Tuesday afternoon, concerned readers noticed that the company was burning-off gas, behind the facility on the Alaska Road.

A call to Superior Propane found that the company is preparing to work on its tanks, and is taking all the necessary precautions during the flaring.

Spokesperson Vicki Warwaruk says the local fire department is aware of the procedure.

She also says the flaring should be complete by 2:00 p.m.
