One institutional permit, which goes to structural steel at the hospital construction site,  has pushed the 2010 value of construction in Fort St. John to a level that is more than 8 times what it was this time last year.

The year-over-year totals for Janaury and February are $9,153,000 this year, as compared to $1,116,000 in 2009.

The aforementioned permit, worth 7,400,000 dollars, was one of ten issued in February and it put the monthly total at 8,280,000 dollars.

That is more than 13 times the 2009 February total of 607,000, from five permits.

The ten permits last month also resulted in about $26,500 in city revenue, putting that year-to-date total at $31,792.

That compares to just $11,290 for the same two month period last year.
