Gasoline, Oil and Natural Gas Prices

By Dwight Ford

It appears that Fort St. John gasoline prices are into a bit of a roller-coaster ride and budget conscious motorists would be well advised to shop before they purchase this morning.

After pushing the price to a 109.9 cents a liter yesterday four out of seven local filling stations as of early this morning had dropped their posted price for a regular liter back to a 101.2.

Meantime, the price of crude oil is again struggling to stay above 80 dollars a barrel, after losing a $1.30 yesterday and finishing the day at $80.61 U.S.

Natural Gas is now barely above 4 dollars U.S. per million BTU and that’s only about half of where it’s suppose to be to instil drilling confidence among producers.

Today, we could find out more about where that confidence level is in this region, when 77 parcels covering more than 25,000 hectares are offered in BC’S March natural gas and petroleum rights sale.
