Synergy Fort St. John is gearing up for another mingler this week.

Communications Chair Brent Hodson says the monthly meetings have been transforming from the very first informal mingler last year.

He says the get-togethers have blossomed into short education seminars for professionals under 40.

Just this year alone, Hodson says the group listened to speakers on a wide range of issues, ranging from the municipal budget to the 2010 Olympics.

Synergy Fort St. John sprouted wings in 2009. It’s a group that provides networking opportunities for young entrepreneurs in the community.

The upcoming mingler will feature Julie Ziebart from Myers Norris Penny. She will be answering questions on the Harmonized Sales Tax, and discuss implementation strategies for businesses.

The group is also electing a new committee, including a Chair, First Vice Chair, Treasurer and Communications Chair. There will also be an opportunity for six more executive members to sit on the board.

Hodson anticipates the upcoming minglers will feature more networking opportunities and even more guest speakers.

The group will be holding its mingler on Thursday, March 25th at 7:00 p.m. in the upper lounge at On The Rocks pub.

There will be door prizes including a Hockey Canada Olympic Jersey and Olympic Red Mittens.
