By Energeticcity.ca staff

A pesticide disposal program in the Peace collected more than 3,300 kilograms of unwanted agricultural pest control products last year.

The British Columbia obsolete pesticide collection program, which ran five days in August, had drop-off locations in Dawson Creek and Fort St. John. It was co-sponsored by numerous levels of government.

Pesticides disposed of included agricultural herbicides, insecticides, fungicides and rodenticides.

All of the pesticides were taken to a licensed disposal facility where they were disposed of through high-temperature incineration.
