The Southeast Prairie Thunder have clinched a spot at the 2010 Allan Cup.

Southeast beat Saskatchewan’s Lloydminster Border Kings 3-1 on Monday night, to win the best-of-five Western playdowns (the Rathbager Cup) 3 games to 1.

The Prairie Thunder will be heading to Fort St. John looking for redemption, after losing the championship final of the 2009 Allan Cup in double overtime, to the Bentley Generals.

Southeast is led by goaltender Brent Zelenewich, who was named the tournament MVP in 2009, as well as the all-star goaltender.

The Manitoba team will play in division one, along with the B.C. representative and the Ontario representative, both of which have yet to be determinined.
