The Grande Prairie Athletics are once again the second-best Senior ‘AA’ team in Alberta.

The NPHL’s Campbell Cup champs lost in the championship game of the Alberta ‘A’ & ‘AA’ championship on Sunday, falling 7-4 to the Chinook Hockey League’s West Central Alberta Rams.

The A’s had beaten the Wainwright Rustlers and the Onoway Ice Dogs to advance to the ‘AA’ final.

Three Grande Prairie Athletics – goaltender Dave Larson, defenceman Mike Mohr, and forward Scott Taje – were named to the second all-star team.
Rams goaltender Jordan Ramstead was named to the first all-star team, and was honoured as the tournament MVP.
The A’s also finished as runners-up at the 2009 Alberta ‘AA’ championship, losing the final to the Spirit River Rangers.
