By Energeticcity.ca staff

Officers with the Chetwynd RCMP detachment have arrested two suspects in connection with an attempted murder case.

On Saturday, April 24th, the Chetwynd RCMP detachment received a complaint from a woman who said she had been nearly strangled to death, and then forcibly confined in a local apartment the night before.

She was taken to hospital where she was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators located two suspects and discovered that the incident was drug related.

Police have laid several charges including attempted murder, forcible confinement and other related charges. The man and woman will now make their first appearance in Dawson Creek Provincial Court on Wednesday, April 28th.

Coincidentally, a similar incident happened on Sunday, April 26th when a person was assaulted and held against their will in Chetwynd. One suspect was arrested, and police say the suspect and victim knew each other.
