Field set for 2010 Allan Cup

By Energeticcity.ca Staff

The Powell River Regals will represent British Columbia and the Dundas Real McCoys will represent Ontario at the 2010 Allan Cup.

The Regals easily defeated the Whitehorse Huskies in their best of 5 series 3 games to 0 to win the B.C. zone and advance to the Allan Cup.  Powell River has won the Allan Cup 3 times, with their last win coming when the community hosted the tournament in 2006.  The Dundas Real McCoys, meanwhile, defeated the Kenora Thistles in two games to win Ontario’s best-of-three Renwick Cup, and claim the central berth in Fort St. John. The Real McCoys hosted an Allan Cup in 2003, but haven’t been able to win the national championship.

The 2010 Allan Cup schedule is now complete, and all 6 teams will start to prepare for the trip to Fort St. John.  The Regals will play their first game at 2 p.m. on Monday April 19th against the Southeast Prairie Thunder.  The Real McCoys will also face Southeast in their first game, on Tuesday April 20th at 2 p.m.  For a full tournament schedule visit www.2010allancup.ca

Fans can purchase ticket packages online at www.2010allancup.ca, or in Fort St. John at the North Peace Cultural Centre.  Individual game tickets will only be available after the tournament begins on April 18th (at increased prices).
