By Christine Rumleskie

Fort St. John residents are encouraged to do a random act of kindness for the planet on Thursday.

April 22nd is ‘Earth Day’,  and the Fort St. John Northern Environmental Action team is asking residents to do their part for the environment.

Communications Coordinator Tammy Hrab says NEAT is holding a contest for those who pledge to do something that will benefit the environment.

According to the Earth Day website, more than six million Canadians will join one billion people in over 170 countries in staging events and projects to address local environmental issues.

So, Hrab says even a small act of kindness can transform into a major environmental movement.
