It’s launch day for the Citizens Initiative Petition against the Harmonized Sales Tax.

Local residents are among those across the province getting an opportunity to kill the blended tax.

This is a legally binding petition that, if successful, would require the Campbell government to hold a referendum on the H-S-T or repeal it in the legislature.

However, just to get to that stage, the petition requires the signatures of 10% of registered voters in every riding in the province. And Organizers only have 90 days to do so.

Here in Fort St. John, signatures will be accepted from 9 a.m. until midnight at the Lido Theatre, on 100th avenue and 102nd street.
